Study on the Degree of Morale and Task Performance of Clinical Nurses

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was performed in order to improve the unsatisfactory condition of the clini cal practice of nurses by measuring the level of nurses¢¥ morale and nursing performance. The subjects for this study were 87 clinical nurses in Kyungpook. Data collected from Nov. 1 to Nov. 16, 1989.
The study was done by two kinds of the questionaires;
One was, to measure nurses¢¥ morale, the other was to measure the level of nursing performance.
The results were as follows;
1. Morale level proved moderate(average score was 3.09).
2. As for the level of task performance, average score was 3.63.
3. The followings resulted from comparing the level of nurses¢¥ morale and task performance with the general characteristics of nurses.
Factors such as leadership style(F=3.3896, P=.0230), and Attitude toward life(F= 3.1801, P=.0292) were highly correlated with nurses morale.
4. There was significant correlation between nurses¢¥ morale and take performance (r=.4749, P <.001).
5. As a result of analyzing morale and related variants by way of Stepwise Multiple Regression, morale was explained 22.6 % by ability of task performance.
As a result of analyzing nursing performance and related variants by way of Stepwise Multiple Regression, nursing performance was explained 21.9 % by age.
